Comparison of Different Designs of Synchronous Reluctance Machines with High-Anisotropy Rotors

چکیده

In terms of torque capability, power factor and efficiency, synchronous reluctance machines with high-anisotropy rotors represent an alternative to conventional induction machines. In particular, they have very robust rotors and can therefore operate at constant power in a wider fieldweakening range. The paper discusses a comparison of the various machine concepts using an identical machine geometry by using finite element analyses. Experimental results obtained from two machine designs confirm the results of the numerical analyses.

Parameter and Performance Comparison of Doubly Fed Brushless Machine With Cage and Reluctance Rotors

The cage and reluctance rotors are two major types of rotor structures used in the doubly fed brushless machine (DFBM). In order to study comparatively the effects of different rotor structure on the DFBM, a prototype machine has been specially designed and built. The experimental parameter and performance comparisons between the axially laminated anisotropic (ALA) and cage-rotor machines are p...

Performance Comparison of Conventional Synchronous Reluctance Machines and PM-Assisted Types with Combined Star–Delta Winding

This paper compares four prototype Synchronous Reluctance Motors (SynRMs) having an identical geometry of iron lamination stacks in the stator and rotor. Two different stator winding layouts are employed: a conventional three-phase star connection and a combined star–delta winding. In addition, two rotors are considered: a conventional rotor without magnets and a rotor with ferrite magnets. The...

Prediction of the electromagnetic torque in synchronous machines through Maxwell stress harmonic filter (HFT) method

For the calculationof torque in synchronousmotors a local method is analysed, based on the Maxwell stress theory and the filtered contributions due to the harmonics of the magnetic vector potential in the motor air-gap. By considering the space fundamental field only, the method can efficiently estimate the average synchronous torque for a variety ormotor topologies, including concentratedwindi...
